A Syrian refugee with permanent Swedish residency attacked a playground in Annecy, injuring several children and adults. Witnesses reported that the suspect mentioned his daughter, his wife and Jesus Christ during the attack. The motive is unclear, but it does not appear to be terrorism-related. Illinois enacts pro-LGBTQ+ laws

Illinois has enacted two new laws to reinforce LGBTQ+ rights. Tamara Dávila, one of the 222 exiled opposition activists, called the confiscation 'completely illegal from any point of view.' The Ortega regime cancelled the citizenship of 94 political opponents, including writers Sergio Ramírez and Gioconda Belli, who are in exile but were not among those flown to the United States.
